Motorcycle Accident Resulting in multiple injuries
Description:
An elderly driver caused a rear end collision to a motorcyclist resulting in multiple injuries. The biker was diagnosed with multiple injuries including a C4-5 disc bulge, a C5-6 disc bulge, a C6-7 disc herniation, a fracture of the distal head of the proximal phalanx; and by such initial medical records, he clearly suffered damages vastly exceeding the at fault driver's insurance coverage.
At an early stage, we submitted a comprehensive demand package to the at fault driver's insurance company. Shortly afterwards, the carrier tendered policy limits of $100,000. The motorcyclist did not have any Underinsured motorist coverage. After the above recovery, we took additional steps to negotiate outstanding medical bills and/or liens, providing an exceptional Closing Statement to the client. Client was very pleased with the results.
This case illustrates
The importance of having Uninsured/Underinsured motorist coverage. Had the biker had such coverage, the overall recovery could have been many times this amount, especially considering the injuries sustained.
