Motorcycle Accident Resulting in Headaches & Multiple Fractures

Description:

45 year old motorcyclist operating a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle on the interstate when the driver of a 2015 Mercedes SUV causes a rear-end collision to a 2005 Pontiac SUV, causing the Pontiac to rotate counter clockwise to strike the motorcyclist. The Florida Highway Patrol investigated the crash, reported the driver of the Mercedes was driving at an estimated speed of 65 miles per hour at the time of impact, charged her with "Careless Driving", also reporting she was "distracted or being inattentive." The at-fault driver had bodily injury liability coverage of $100,000.00.

The motorcyclist did not have any motorcycle insurance. However, he did have an automobile insurance policy with uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage $10,000.00. Case resolved for policy limits, including the underinsured motorist coverage under the biker's automobile insurance.

This case is a reminder of two things:
